The Murder City
Detroit may be The Motor City, but Chicago is The Murder City. Not only is the city famous for their deep dish pizza, but also for giving their inhabitants the deep six. Chicago had it's 500th murder of the year, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel had the gall to weigh in on gun control in the wake of the Newtown shooting. That's like a tribal leader in Afghanistan giving advice on how to reduce violent crime. Now I know why they call it the windy city, it's the air turbulence caused by projectiles whizzing by. When you visit remember to bring your Kevlar umbrella, it's the only city that rains bullets.

In the wake of the destruction and loss of life caused by Hurricane Sandy the Federal government has put together an aid package of monstrous porkportions. A total of 60 billion dollars of which 41 million dollars goes to military bases including Gitmo. I guess the $750,000. soccer field needs upgrades to be able to hold the 2013 Terrorist Olympics. It will be the only event where attendees will be searched for explosives, and if they aren't wearing any won't be allowed to enter. There is 150 million dollars targeted for Alaska fisheries. It seems to me fishes wouldn't be bothered by hurricanes unless they were blown off the display stand at the fish market. There is 4 million dollars for the Kennedy Space Center which is ironic since we hitch a ride with the Russians when we need to go to space. Maybe it should be renamed the Kruschev Space Center. The money could be for the astronomical interest we're paying on our Russian Express Card, but "we don't leave earth without it." Rahm Emanuel summed up the situation nicely when he said "never let a crisis go to waste" just taxpayer dollars.

Chicago deep dish
If you're a city worker in Chicago your dish will not be as deep if Mayor Rahm Emanuel has his way. He wants city employees to lose weight, cut down on fats, and sugars, and exercise or else they will pay a $50. a month penalty toward their health premium*. His reasoning is "You can't ask the taxpayers to pay for a healthcare problem that you can manage and do a good job". Consider this, if you are a crack addict you do not need to take a blood test to get welfare, if you are an alcoholic your SSI benefits are not in jeopardy if you don't give up drinking, the obese don't have to diet to continue to get food stamps, and Medicaid recipients can't have their benefits canceled if they have poor lifestyle choices. Does this knucklehead not know that taxpayers pay for these programs as well? So an obese, cigarette smoking, drunken, crack whore is off the hook. Meanwhile taxpayers who pay for their own health insurance, and pay for those who can't afford it will be forced to carry a even bigger load.
